Letter to Independant Newspapers. For Attention Tash Reddy HI Tash Please have a look through these cpomplaints of a very poor quality ford car I baught 7 months ago. Ford is now offering absolutely no compensation or a replacement vehicle after after a life threatening part broke after a  thousand kilometers or so. Since then we have been pushed from pillar to post and there comes a cut off point where one cannot carry on. Its cost us petrol, money and lots of time and unnecessary kilometers on the clock. There are still 5 faults outsatnding, many of which have been fixed time and time again. I have also informed them I will be placing my story on a web site and branding the car to inform others that they might suffer the same fate with this car. Regards David Briggs

This letter has now been sent to NAAMSA and I now an starting to send it to other motor and publicity departments.

HI There

This is the third department I am now E mailing as all other correspondence has been ignored. I really am sick and tired of the way Ford deals with customers and the poor quality of the KA car that we purchased. I am not threatening you in any way, Im simply stating a fact that we have reached a cut off point in terms of dealing with breakages on this car and once again am requesting a full re fund or replacement vehicle. This is now not unreasonable on our side as we have been incredibly tolerant for over 5 months.

If this is not attended to very shortly I will have no other option than to take this matter to the newspapers and other forms pf publicity.

I sincerely hope you read this e mail in the light it is intended

Yours Sincerely

David Briggs

     TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN

I bought this car for Miss Hattingh from Kempster in Umgeni road. When the endless problems started I phoned, as did Miss Hattingh the dealer asking for the contact details for the branch nearer home and was told that they do not give out 'opposition details'. This was complaint was forwarded to the dealer principal whom after many phone calls decided to phone back. His answer to this was 'Well what would you like me to do about her??'. When he was informed of the numerous complaints he again sarcastically informed me that that's what a guarantee is for. Well let me tell you, one or two come backs are fine but this is totally unacceptable. This is a faulty and dangerous car and we do not want it any more. Either we expect a full reimbursement or a new car. These faults have wasted out time and petrol. All Miss Hattingh has done is run back and forward.

I  expect something to be done  or believe me I will take this to all your CEOs and directors. Failing this i will go to the newspapers about this faulty car.

Regards

David Briggs

AVRIL HATTIN GH

I bought a Ford KA from Kempstor Auto in Umgeni Road, Durban, in November 2006 and within weeks of owning it I have had nothing but trouble,  When the vehicle had done 1485km the brakes became almost non existent so I took the vehicle to Kempster in Edwin Swales Drive, Bluff.  When I dropped off the vehicle I told the servicing department to let me know early in the day if they were keeping the car so I could arrange a lift home.  I live in Amanzimtoti and work near Pinetown.  I was phoned at 4.15 to tell me they were keeping the vehicle as it is considered too dangerous to drive as the vaccuum booster had to be replaced and might take 4 days to fix - I asked for transport home and because it was so late I was without a lift and was told there was no courtesy car.  I phoned the dealer principle who said I could have a car the next day. When I picked up the courtesy car it had a flat tyre and not a drop of petrol in the tank- I ran out of petrol on my way to the garage.  The tyre was flat each morning on this car. When my car was fixed it was delivered to my workplace but the door on the passenger side had been scratched to the metal  .  I t had obviously been parked too close to a wall where they were repairing the vehicle and someone had opened the door on the wall damaging the paint work.  I again phoned the dealer principle who told me that I would have to bring the vehicle back so they could get a panel beater to fix it but it was December and I was told that the panel beaters were probably closed but they would see what could be done.  I havent had the chance to do this yet because I again had to take vehicle back - this time to kempster in umgeni road as the bumper was loose and the air con had be reset it also has a gas smell coming through when the air con is turned off and the brakes were noisy.  I dropped off the vehicle on the 28th March 2007 and I had to keep phoning through the day to make sure i wouldnt again be stranded - i was told that the only fault repaired on the vehicle was the aircon - it had taken all day to fix  ( today it still has a smell when turned off). I was told I would have to come back the next day.  On my way home at 5.30 from picking up the car I turned on the lights and the display on the radio went off - when i turned the lights off the display on the radio came back on.  The next day 28 March 2007 I went back to Kempster and they said they would fix the radio/light problem and the loose bumper and other faults.  When I turn on the lights now the whole radio lighting system on the dashboard does not come on and when braking on cold the brakes are very noisy so I took the car last thursday 24th April 2007 to Toti Ford and asked them to sort out the radio lights and the brakes and please look to see where the rattling on the bumper rear is. When I collected the vehicle they had taken the brakes off and lubricated them and looked for the rattling on the rear.  They found a wire had been disconnected resulting in the lights on the radio not working so now when you turn lights on the radio section lights up but the display on the radio goes off and when I turn the lights off the radio display comes back on.  They suggested taking the radio out and sending it away for about 2 weeks to see if this is where the fault lies and if thats not the fault then I must take the vehicle back to have the wiring harness checked,  Why had not Kempster told me this when they disconnected the wire?  This morning I went back to  Kempster and showed them the fault and I was told that the manufacturer had told them to disconnect the wire - which they did and I'm now sitting with the same problem when I turn on the lights the display on the radio goes off and visa versa. I have been asked to bring the vehicle back again next week,  I havent had the chance to get the door paintwork sorted out yet at kempster in   Edwin   Swales because im backwards and forwards to other ford dealers trying resolve all the other problems im getting.   Now when I start the car up in the mornings there is another noise which should not be there either.  Im at my wits end and ive had enough of this type of treatment to the point where I do not want this vehicle any longer.  I work and I cannot afford to keep taking time off  because of bad workmanship and manufacturing of the car that seems to be getting new faults as the weeks go by.

I expect an urgent reply as to how this matter can be resolved.
